Norris Slough Culvert Replacement

Description: 

Project required removal of a failing 5 foot culvert under WSDOT Hwy 105 with an 87 foot long concrete girder bridge. Technical eliminates of the project required construction of a temporary bridge and redirection of highway traffic via unmanned signal operation, rechanneling of stream flow, pile driving, cast in place concrete deck, piers, and guardrail, new roadway surfacing, along with all of the necessary daily traffic control.

Description: 

Project consisted of removal of a fish barrier within Preacher Slough allowing natural hydrologic functions and biological processes to be restored to the slough. The road fill was removed and replaced with a 120 foot bridge.

Description: 

Remove, realign and upgrade 3 miles of two lane all-weather roadway. Clear, grub and pulverize pavement, and haul off over 80,000 cubic yards of material, protect and create new wetlands, grade and pave the new roadway with 5 foot shoulders all while keeping the roadway open to traffic.

Description: 

Replacement of two unsignalized intersections with two roundabouts. The roadway was excavated, realigned, graded and compacted with extensive drainage work performed while maintaining traffic flow throughout the entire project.

Description: 

BOSS was honored to perform the rehabilitation work on this 100 year old landmark which was the first arched bridge built west of the Mississippi River. Along with the seismic and safety improvements, major elements of the project included repair of the concrete transverse beams, columns and arched longitudinal beams, replacement of the road surface and bridge guardrail and bridge approach sitework while maintaining and preserving the aesthetic, historical character of the bridge and surrounding community.

 

Wenatchee Pedestrian Bridge

Description: 

The main objective of this project was to connect and provide access from the Downtown Convention Center to the river walk known as the Apple Capital Recreational Loop Trail. With a total length of 600 feet, the bridge spans two city streets, a parking lot, and nine railroad tracks.  

Iron Horse State Park Hall Creek Trestle Repair

Description: 

Project involved replacement of a 170 foot long section of the old trestle which washed away from a previous flood. The trestle towered 175 feet above Hall Creek and was one of three trestle sections needing to be replaced for final conversion of the old Milwaukee Rail Line to the new Washington State Parks John Wayne trail. BOSS’s innovative approach to this work lessened the impact on the surrounding environment by 90%. In appreciation, WA State Parks recognized BOSS for its efforts and the project, along with the Easton Bridge Repair, went on to become the AGC’s 2nd place winner for project of the year.

Description: 

The replacement of a 260 foot long trestle section over the Yakima River in the middle of the Cascades posed many constructability and environmental challenges. The original plan required logging and widening the access road through  Easton State Park. BOSS’s unique approach of assembling the entire 260 foot long steel structure and launching it from one side eliminated all of the anticipated impacts to the park. In appreciation, WA State Parks recognized BOSS for its efforts and the project, along with the Hall Creek Trestle Repair, went on to become the AGC’s 2nd place winner for project of the year.

Temporary Bridge
BOSS Construction owns a 30 foot by 80 foot two section bridge. Each section is 15 feet by 80 feet, allowing it to be used as either a single or double lane for construction or emergency purposes. The bridge design exceeds AASH20LRFD design specifications and vehicle live load meeting HL-93 minimums. All steel design stresses for steel conforms to section 6-02.3(17)B.
